We are meeting at Government Canyon to Hike. We will explore the backcountry routes. There is a fee of 6.00 to enter the park unless you have an annual state park pass. After the hike we can go to one of the restaurants that are in the area of Culebra & 1604.
Make sure you have water, sun block, and good shoes. I estimate we will be walking for about 2 hours. We will be given maps of the trails and the trails have signs at various intervals indicating where we are located.
Meet at:
I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. We will meet at the visitor center close to the water tower.
Rain cancels this event.
The deadline to rsvp "Yes" for this meetup is the day before the meetup.
Make sure you have enough water for yourself. Maybe some food too.

I am going to buy a pass. I expect to be there every weekend to mountain bike this summer. This hike is just to check out the terrain. And to hang out with wonderful people too, of course.
Stake out a bar?!! A party at 6:00 pm!!? I expect we will be finished by 1:00 pm at the latest and then you all will still have several hours to do your other stuff. Bathe, take a nap, and you will feel refreshed for your activities. Or you might feel sore, tired, and end up going to bed at 8:00 pm for the rest of the night.
If you have a Texas Parks pass (like me!) you're not charged the $6.00 entrance fee. I'm 15 or so minutes from the park, so send me an e-mail if you want to park by my apartment (I410 & Culebra)and carpool in. I'll leave by 9:10 AM.
