Today Long John Silvers and BP announced a partnership to market a new line of deep-fried fish. Can I have mine blackened?

1. never order the fish from LJS
2. don't pretend that you haven't enjoyed, if not out right ordered extra fried batter
3. any time that anyone in a position of legitimate authority can suggest that setting _________ problem on fire makes the most sense, is a good time indeed (yes i understand that ppl died and the gulf is more-dead.. )

Well, it's a good thing we've been overfishing all these years. What a waste it would have been to kill them all with raw crude.

The BP oil spill is spread across an estimated 2,500 square miles, and is dumping at least 200,000 gallons of crude into the Gulf of Mexico every day. What would that look like in New York?

To give you an idea of the destruction caused in the Gulf, Google Maps engineer Paul Rademacher has created an image of the spill that you can drag over any city. It's pretty depressing. Meanwhile, poor BP has lost $350 million to the spill already. Here it is over Washington, DC.
